Job Description

The Team Member Relations Manager acts as a partner with regional and store management and team members to ensure Corporate Values are embedded in the behaviors of our Team Members in how they interact with Guests and each other.  The Team Member Relations Manager will provide intake and support to all Team Member Relations issues, provide guidance, ensure alignment with policies, executing business specific projects and initiatives relating to people and demonstrating leadership in human resources decisions, procedures and programs.

This role reports to the Director, HR & Team Member Relations.


Coaching and development

  • Partner with managers to effectively manage the performance of their teams
  • Advise managers/senior leaders on people issues by helping to identify root cause and develop solutions to help meet business needs
  • Provide project support for various talent management initiatives

Facilitate Performance Management processes

  • Drive a high-performance culture through effective implementation and follow-up of performance management processes and tools
  • Consult on development plans and performance management with managers

Understand Team Member Relations issues and provide counsel to the business

  • Manages complex team member relations issues
  • Independently investigate and resolve team member issues and complaints
  • Assist Legal Counsel with handling EEO complaints when appropriate and requested

Advise and execute to the Strategic Capability Planning

  • Encourage Open Door ownership and resolution of Team Relations issues by Store and Region Management.
  • Provide input into performance appraisal process
  • Be a high-performance culture activist. Help support and align culture and strategy to support the company vision, mission, and values
  • Resource for managers and team members to escalate HR issues to effectively resolve in a timely manner.
  • Act as a resource and company representative to all team members during their employment life cycle.
  • Maintain the Team Member Relations databases and utilize systems to effectively support Team Member Relations activities; tracking and resolving cases to their conclusion within business areas as well as analyze and identify data gathered for future business issues and needs  
  • Report data to ZVP and RMO to aid in business strategy project and program processes

Champion and drive a culture of engagement in the field

  • Proactively advise RMO/Store management on emerging workplace trends and recommend team member engagement strategies that balance the business and team member needs
  • Partner with ZVP and RMO to utilize data from the EMS system to drive culture and engagement in the field. Teach Store Managers and RMOs about different programs to drive a high performing team that is excited to come to work every day.
  • Drive a reward and recognition program for the field and ensure SMs have access to the program to fully implement in their stores
  • Provide project support for various initiatives and projects as needed

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Organizational Psychology, Business or related discipline
  • PHR /SPHR certification preferred


  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in a strategic Human Resources function, which includes supporting multiple levels of management in a fast-paced work environment
  • HR experience with emphasis in change management, performance management and organizational effectiveness
  • Experience supporting multiple business units across a region or territory in a consultative capacity and the capacity to work across diverse client groups.Strong analytical skills – proven success in using data to drive decisions
  • Ability to travel on occasion to Stores and Support Center Offices.Strong technology skills: Microsoft Office, Ulti-pro and iCIMS a plus
