Job Description

The Fresh Market currently has an opening for an IT Project Manager II at our corporate office located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The IT Project Manager II will report to the Director of the IT Project Management Office and will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a broad, coordinated set of projects to meet the goals and priorities of The Fresh Market using generally accepted Project Management Institute (PMI) standards and best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Leads medium to large projects of varying complexity which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional and organizational integration.
  • Ensures projects are completed according to time and budget schedules, and that objectives conform to The Fresh Market’s overall standards, operational objectives and user requirements.
  • Organizes project teams by identifying areas of needed expertise and required skills. Directs the activities of project teams to ensure quality and timeliness of project completion.
  • Prepares standard and ad hoc management reports and presentations for assigned projects.
  • Drives resolution of project conflicts. Engages with executive and senior management regularly.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with various audiences, including executive management.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of project management toolkits and methodologies used within The Fresh Market.
  • Provides expertise and coaching to project managers in the process of project management

Required Skills

  • Experience applying project management methodologies and practices including developing a project plan, charter, scope, project management approach and associated management plans.
  • Experience leading projects through full lifecycles using both waterfall and iterative approaches.
  • Experience presenting and reporting on projects to appropriate stakeholders, executives and senior management.
  • Experience utilizing project management software and other standard project management scheduling tools, such as MS Project or Workfront.
  • Strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches
  • Experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership
  • Experience working on cross-functional project teams
  • A keen attention to detail and effective listening skills
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with collaborative style
  • Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical fields of study
  • 5+ years equivalent work experience in IT project management related field
  • Certified in Project Management (PMP) as granted by PMI
