Job Description

The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing innovative and engaging learning courses to support overall store training experience. This includes working collaboratively with SMEs, field leadership, and the training team to create learning content. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of creative instructional design skills and technical knowledge and is passionate about building best in class learning, in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment

  • Design and develop engaging eLearning experiences and job aids that incorporates adult learning principles resulting in interactive and relevant content, knowledge retention, and applied skills
  • Conduct needs analysis to determine learning and performance objectives
  • Communicate and establish relationships with SMEs and cross-functional teams to define deliverables, project framework, and content that is clear and understandable
  • Coordinate, manage, and execute all aspects of training development including script writing, storyboarding, design, development, and evaluation
  • Create and implement evaluation plans to demonstrate business impact of training initiative
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders proposing recommendations and innovative learning solutions to solve organization needs, advocate for the learner experience, and develop program updates accordingly


  • 3 - 5 years instructional design experience focused on eLearning
  • Demonstrated expertise in effective Instructional Design; experience in training development for retail or grocery environments preferred
  • Proven ability to manage projects and partner with various levels in the organization
  • Proficiency in eLearning tools (Articulate 360, Lectora 17, etc), Responsive Design, and Learning Management Systems
  • Intermediate skill in Adobe Create Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office, and experience with HTML5 and CSS a plus
  • Experience with graphic design, video, micro-learning, and simulations
  • High-level attention to detail and accuracy in execution of work and tasks
  • Experience preferred with implementing new Learning Management Systems
