Job Description

The Corporate HR Business Partner/Recruiter will support The Fresh Market through talent management, organization development programs, and performance management processes that enhance skills and drive performance of our team members.

The HR Business Partner/Recruiter is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level across the following functional areas: performance management, talent management, employee relations, employee engagement, onboarding, and employment law compliance. The HR Business Partner will report directly to the Corporate HR Director and work closely with other HR Business Partners with supporting designated corporate functions. 

This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can engage and influence team members at all levels within the organization. The Corporate HRBP/Recruiter must be responsive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and The Fresh Market’s business objectives.

  • Generate solutions and implements with input and support from senior HR management team
  • Facilitate and supports the development of department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, coaches, counsels and guides managers through performance management process
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual
  • Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinates with HR managers to educate managers.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Job Requirements/Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or additional years of relevant work experience
  • 6 – 8 years of progressively responsible experience in compensation
  • Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
  • Experience using iCIMS and UltiPro talent platforms or similar software
  • CP or SCP Certification preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Experience working in and managing Performance Management software
  • Experience working and managing HRIS systems
  • Proficient in MicroSoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Special Skills/Attributes:

  • Experience managing a curriculum or portfolio of classes in a learning management system (LMS)
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills; excellent story telling and presentation skills in large and small group settings
  • Strong time management and attention to detail skills
  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to influence and achieve consensus up, down and across the organization
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to manage competing priorities and multiple work streams; ability to meet deadlines
