What's the difference between part-time and full-time?

Full-time employees work 30+ hours per week and are eligible for full-time benefits.

How old do I have to be to work at The Fresh Market?

You must be at least 16 years old to work at The Fresh Market. In some departments, you must be at least 18 or 19 years old depending on the state of operation.

When are new positions opened?

All openings are posted as needed and can change daily.

Does The Fresh Market hire store managers externally?

No. We're committed to promoting our talented employees, so we hire 100% of our Store Managers internally from our Assistant Store Managers.

Can I apply for an Assistant Store Manager position online?

Yes! Assistant Store Manager positions will appear on our careers site as they are needed.

How can I find out about new positions and apply?

Check our postings. After you complete an online application, you can get email notifications about new jobs.

What's the application and assessment process like?

The online application and assessment each take 20-25 minutes to complete. You may apply for more than one position and attach a resume. You may update your profile as needed, but they expire after one year. Unfortunately, we're not able to respond to all candidates.

Who will see my application and assessment?

Once the assessment and application are completed, a hiring manager, The Fresh Market Human Resources Team, and the Talent Acquisition Team will have access to your information to determine if there is a good match for you.

How is hiring for new store different than hiring for existing stores?

The process is very similar, but we host open house events for new stores. Complete the online application before an open house career event and you will receive an email invitation to schedule an interview during the event, should your qualifications match an open position. Many new store positions may be filled prior to the event.
